Isaiah 11:1-3And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him the spirit of wisdom and understanding the spirit of counsel and might the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:Mark 4:13And he said unto them Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?Mark 4:14The sower soweth the word.Mark 4:15And these are they by the way side where the word is sown; but when they have heard Satan cometh immediately and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.Mark 4:20And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word and receive it and bring forth fruit some thirtyfold some sixty and some an hundred.Mark 4:21-23And he said unto them Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?For there is nothing hid which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret but that it should come abroad.If any man have ears to hear let him hear.Mark 4:24-25And he said unto them Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.For he that hath to him shall be given: and he that hath not from him shall be taken even that which he hath.Mark 4:24-25 (New Living Translation)And be sure to pay attention to what you hear. The more you do this the more you will understand — and even more besides.  To those who are open to my teaching more understanding will be given. But to those who are not listening even what they have will be taken away from them.Luke 8:10 18And he said Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see and hearing they might not understand.Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.Luke 11:33-36No man when he hath lighted a candle putteth it in a secret place neither under a bushel but on a candlestick that they which come in may see the light.The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil thy body also is full of darkness.Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.If thy whole body therefore be full of light having no part dark the whole shall be full of light as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
