Philippians 1:1-8 - Paul said there was a fondness in the relationship that he had with this group of believers. In verse 5 paul speaks of the sympathetic cooperation of them for the ministry he was involved in. He appreciated their cooperation in the ministry as well as their financial support. He also speaks of their partnership in the ministry. This book of Philippians refers to this partnership relationship. it is the common thread throughout the book because he was writing this letter to the church that was an active partner with him in ministry. Fellowship here is the greek koinonia which is a sweet communion among believers. it is a common union between believers and it carries with it the connotation of oneness. it implies a focused pupose is present. They are united in direction and purpose. There can be no fellowship or agreement. The word partner tells us that everyone has apart in the relationship. Every person has a part and every part has a purpose. Felloship means a stat of being friends. Everyone comes as an equal in this partnering fellowship. These people were friendly and were comrades. In verse 7 we see that the partners of the nimister were equipped and anointed with the grace and anointing of the minister. Philippians 4:14-19 - This verse has to be taken in context with the verses that proceed it like in vs 14 where Paul speaks of fellowship with him in the ministry. This passage speaks fo financial support. In vs 15 he tells that they were the only goup to suppor thim in this way and they needed what Paul had. Paul coul say vs 19 because they were communicating with him in the ministry through partnership. Matthew 10:40-42 - Jesus speaks of the prophet's reward comin ginto a person's reward which is receiving and giving. Philippians 4:15 - The Philippians were in this receiving and giving mode with Paul. Jesus said you cannot receive teaching and reward from a prophet unless you receive him first and give to him. We cannot receive the reward without these two things. This puts vs 19 into context. He said his God not your God or our God. He was saying that God would do the rewarding for the Philippian believers. This partnering allows this faith bond to exist and help us. Everyone goes to a higher level because of each other and thepartnering principle. Because of this relationship the church at Phillippi became apostolic and prophetic int their ministry. They had to operate int heir faith but couldn't hget there solely on their faith but God coupled them with a man of stronger faith and anointing. His blessing was on their life. Paul said God would supply their need as if they were him. We don't have to solely depend ou out own faith. Fellowship presupposes that there is a heart felt agreement in the ministry. When we participate and partner in another's ministry we partake in the rewards of the ministry. We should pray we should do and we should give financially. II Kings 4:8-16 - this woman had prepared a place for the prophet and she was not a Jewess so she had no covenant with the Lord. She was a Shunamite. She built an additon onto her house for the minister. Because fo he deeds Elisha asked her what he could do for her. He had political connection and asked her if he could talk to the king for her. She had plenaty of substance ( a great woman financially). She wanted something that no man could giver to her a son. She received the prophet's reward for her heart and giving. The prophet's reward was found int eh middle of vs 13 it was something she could no do for herself at all. The weaker in faith is linked to the faith of the stronger. Later the child dies and Elisha has to bring the child from the dead to keep his promise to her through the relationship with the prophet. I Kings 17 - The prophet broke the powers of darkness over a ministry partner. Philippians 1:4 - Paul was in a preayer relationship withy his partners. I
