Being led by the physical desires Your spirit was made perfect when you were born again. Hebrews 12:23 - to the church of the firstborn whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God the judge of all men to the spirits of righteous men made perfect ? Just as easily righteous. This verse refers to them that have been born again. ? Soul & Body _ are not made perfect at the new birth ? Body _ a tool your spirit is supposed to run an imperfect channel. Script reference from David ? The nature of God dwells in our born again spirits. ? The nature of the flesh is lust. That does not necessarily mean that it is sexual. Hebrews 10:39 - But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed but of those who believe and are saved. ? Draw back _ the spirit is made perfect. Soul is comprised of mind will personality & emotions. Both the spirit and soul can function in or out of the body. Luke 16:19-31 ? Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. ? Psychologists differentiate between the conscious mind and the sub conscious mind. ? Ephesians 4:22-24 - You were taught with regard to your former way of life to put off your old self which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. ? The spirit man does grow in strength. Prophesy and record into proportion of faith=judge it by saying it. Romans 7:15-16 - I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do I agree that the law is good. ? The conflict between the flesh and the spirit ? Romans 7:18 - I know that nothing good lives in me that is in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good but I cannot carry it out. ? The flesh can?t lead in a godly fashion. ? Romans 7:23 - but I see another law at work in the members of my body waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. ? 3 factors at work: spirit soul & body ? Romans 7:25 - Thanks be to God?through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. ? Mind is reference to conscious. The upshot is that through feeding the spirit on the Word of God and prayer you can overcome the sin nature of the flesh. ? The conscious mind is controlled by the subconsciousness. If the subconscious is properly controlled by the spirit you can only reject the spirit to the degree that your subconscious will let you. Confidence and faith are closely related inseparable. Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another. ? Your countenance is your external expression of your spiritual condition. ? Faith is a force of the spirit.
